Hi, I have a Pictus Cat approx. 3 inches, have had him for alittle over 3 months now & this morning it appears he's had his whiskers trimmed!,(they were reallllly long & both the same length) now they are much shorter & uneven in length. There are no signs of disease,he eats very well (like a shark frenzy). The water conditions are perfect :D , I test weekly, but did an emergency test this morning, incase of a spike of some sort, but nothing is wrong waterwise. His tank mates include Giant Danios, 5, Silver Dollars, 2 & a Blue Crayfish (whom he seems to adore  lol, he follows him around & simply has to know where he's at & what he's doing at all times.)They sometimes squabble  ,looks like the Blue is doing "Karate moves",quite comical  , but it never seems too serious because the Cat bolts! I guess my question is...did the whiskers deteriorate? because of some unseen disease :-( ? or did Ole`Blue chop, chop him? :S Will/can they grow back? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you. LC

Catfish whiskers do deteriate in poor water conditions but since you say your parameters are fine i think it is much more likely that a tank mate has removed them, the crayfish would be my prime suspect. With good water conditions the whiskers will grow back quite quickly.

My malawi did the same thing to my pair of pictus. But now they are longer than ever :)
