I just bought him a week or so ago and he was a good silvery color with black spots everywhere. Looks nice and healthy.

Today I noticed his spots are not nearly as dark, and his sides are a shade of yellow.

He seams fine, he swims a lot, eats a lot and gets along with my other fish.

Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,

Some fish change colours to suit their moods.
They also change colours when they r able to breed.
Theres many reason why, i dont think ne are bad, Unless of course he is stressed. But from what you have told us its fine

Thank you, I was a little worried. Then this morning he looked normal again, nice and shiny with dark spots.

Check your ammonia nitrite and nitrate levels, changing colour is most often a sign of poor water quallity or some other problem with their enviroment (low oxygen/high co2 levels etc).
