Pics Of My New 1St Salt Water Tank

1. Good choice
2. Wouldn't recommend, can be very very aggressive. Get a Royal Gramma instead, identical in appearance but much less aggressive.
3. Good choice, but most likely won't along with a true Perc (#7). Best to get either #3 OR #7
4. Good choice, but about a 50/50 change it may nip polyps on corals, so if you want to get some coral be careful with them!
5. Same as #1?
6. Good choice, read #2
7. Good choice, read #3

So in conclusion I would recommend one of the species of clownfish (you can do a pair of the same species), dwarf angel, Royal Gramma and the goby.

i would probably advise against the green mandarin (and any dragonets for that matter) because they are finicky eaters and only a select few keepers have been successful at feeding frozen foods. naturally they graze rocks of copepods, and a 36 gal simply wouldn't be able to hold enough copepods to keep the dragonet alive and well. eventually it will starve and die, unless you are dedicated to feeding it live copepods everyday.

otherwise your list looks good. don't know much about the blenny though i'm afraid. :good:

great thanks! i will cross off dragonets.
i bought 1 clown today, here are some pics below..

the guy at the lfs says i could buy a baby tang and they will get too large eventually bought grow slow, and would not be a bad choice for my tank. do you guys agree? also im looking for easy fish to care for. that can live on just flakes..

re stacked the rocks..

I wouldnt buy a tang cause of their diet. It isnt impossible to mimic but isnt as easy as just flakes haha.

The tank looks alot better, good work!! :good:  :good: i especially like the caves u made at the front :D

ughhhhhh, the LFS water does look a bit... out of hand haha. Might of came from the poop that came out of the fish while you got it though.

1 difference that will create a huge difference is adjusting the powerheads pointing towards the top for maximum turbulence and aereation. It also gives you that "shimmering" effect u find in the sea. Dont take my advice if it doesnt seem right though because all tanks are different, try to avoid having dead spots (area with no flow), just whatever seems right to you should be fine.

ammonia level from lfs is probably because its been taken out of their system and into a bag for a little while. water qualities can fluctuate like that. that is why you probably don't want to add any of the water from the bag into your tank.

i can't contribute much to answering your question about the tang but i'm sure some more experienced keepers will be able to clear things up for you

otherwise your tank is looking nice! i'd put up a black or blue background if i were you but that's just my preference. plus putting up a background reduces stress for the fish
