I got a betta for my 2 gallon tank yesterday. I do not have a filter or heater, but the water remains 21 degrees (70-71 farenheight) . I am feeding her Freeze-Dried Bloodworms (Red Mosquito Larva) which I thought they loved but she just takes it in and spits it out. She does it with lots of the pieces. I didn't buy anything else as I was sure he would he eat it. Is there anything else she might eat?

Since you got her yesterday, just give her some time to acclimatize :) My bettas usually take in food after a day or so

Well I can't get a hold of that food for awhile. Is there anything that I might have around the house, like peas or some kind of vegetable or something?

FD bloood worms like you have will be totally fine. As I said, give her some time as they feed different kinds of food at the lfs, so she might need some time to get used to the new food

Sorry I didn't see your post before I posted again. Okay I will wait it out, because I don't know why they wouldn't eat mosquito larva.

Most bettas take the food in and spit it out, its kind of their way of chewing. But what wisperian said is right on, just give your betta some time and keep offering food and eventually it will eat.
