We used to run a monthly photo contest with catagorys for large tanks, small tanks, fish of the month and betta of the month. Unfortunately some people took winning too seriously and cheating was rife with people setting up multiple accounts to vote for their own photo, taking photos from other websites and posting them as their own and even scanning pictures from books or magazines and posting them which lead to the competitions being canceled permamently.

By all means you can run your own competition but it will not be supported by or recongnised as an official TFF competition by the moderators.

see, I think we should have quality judges. 3 of them. With people like CFC, that dude with the angel fish as his avatar, and then the THIRD vote be the one of the people.

You probably shouldnt do it because If you do do it you want to have TFF backing it because if you do your own then newbies will come and just try to do their own then everyone will want to do their own and it'll cause a huge problem making the mods shut it down.

Figure that out first.. set some basic rules, and let everyone vote..

Wont be serious like the old TFF photo contests.. but still something fun for people to participate in.

i'd be curious to see thepics, lord knows my digi sux so it's nice to see others.

Could do something to verify that the person owns the tank, such as everyone dropping a button or marble into the tank for the photo.

lol bit much to ask the mods,

@matthew5664 how about being the mod yourself. or choose one or two who are keen on the idea. if the competition is started without official sanction, it may put the mods in a spot were there to be any argument. this would be your baby you could, make the rules. choose the mods and the categories.

What are you going to do about pictures that can't have a marble in it, like ones of top-swimmers. Also, chances are the picture perfect moment won't be next to the marble, even with bottom-feeders.
