i used to have alot more plants for him but he always tears them apart... i really need to try something new to see if i can get him to keep anything for more than a week... lol

sorry about the dirty glass some of the pictures a older and it was right before a cleaning...

a cute little guy.you feed him very well by your pictures,i think you can put some little fish in the tank,he will like them
haha :shout:

I not sure if I should even mention this because I know how people are against it but Phent does get "meaty" foods once a week his main diet is reptomin but florida softshells are carnivores and have to have meaty foods he honestly can't digest plant matter all the way if you give him something leafy (like romain lettuce) or anything like that he will eat it biting perfectly round bites out of it and after he eats all he wants ill remove the left overs and a day or two later all the perfectly round green bites are back floating in the tank so I very rarely give him plant matter so he gets a large variety of "meaty" foods nothing more than once a month and if I can help only once ever 2 months

 WOW!!! I've seen these in the canals in Miami! And we help them cross the street when they are stuck on the road! I can testify that they are indeed carnivorous. At the university where I work, we used to see these turtles grab day-old ducklings from right below the surface. Grisly, but detinitely carnivorous.

His tank looks very festive.

Ya I have family in florida and I have saw GIANT females over a 2 foot shell length they can be monsterous so thankfully I have amale that doesn't get nearly as large he is "full grown" now they never stop growning but it slows down enough that he can be considered full grown

And if he doesn't want to be bothered with a neck like a snapper if not longer he can be a handfull or handsfull lol
