Heya, right i have a D&D denitrate filter (sulphur beads) to help my nitrate and it works a treat however im having issues...

The sulphur lowers the ph to about 6.5 as i wld of expected but it has to go fast into my tank as otherwise it smells of sulphur now to raise the ph i let it pour over crushed coral sand to raise the ph however im finding my tank levels going low  and when i slow the filter it smells so i have to have it going out fast.

The coral sand sits in my V2 bubble stop from ym skimmer then the ro pipe size pours ontop of it.

Any ideas to sort this issue wld be great :)

what calcium and alkalinity do you have in the main tank?

Sulphur beads- Denitrate filter.

Why?

Your set up sounds great, 40kg-LR, 50x flow, Almost the same set up as my tank, altough 75gal 50-60kg. My nitrate levels barley register. The live rock and high flow combine to denitrafy the tank.

Trust your set up, no need for sulphur beads. Then your tank should buffer its self to a good ph level :good:

Aint got those atm and my works ones ran out :( stupid other worker used it all up even though he cant keep marine lol. Urm reason was while ago my tank was running at 75mg per litre and water changes didnt help one bit. Now it runs at 5mgs roughly with a 10 percent water change ever 2 weeks.
