PLANTED UP.

STATS.

30X30X30 PFK freebie cube.
AquaVital HOB 400
Interpet power compact T5 with Triton tube.
FishVet diffuser.
ADA aquasoil Malaya.
ADA power sand special.
Tropica plant nutrition plus.
Co2 is ( i think ) around 1 bubble per second. My bubble counters bust!

PLANTS.

Riccia.
Fissidins moss.
Lilaeopsis mauritiana.
Limnophila sessiliflora .
Ludwigia glandulosa .
Anubias barteri var. nana 'Petite'.
Monosolenium tenerum .
Rotala wallichii . ( I think )
Limnophila aquatica ( I think )
Echinodorus tenellus .
Cryptocoryne beckettii ''petchii''. ( not 100% on this one )

All the plants ( well most ) were from my local pets at home ,of all places. They had a great selection in and all looking healthy. This could be due to the plant delivery day on a Wednesday, and i went in Thursday.
I'm not 100% happy with it so far, only two days in. I feel some tweaking needed and some more plants. Crypts mostly. The design id too heavy to the right.
I need to get my head round the 4dKH solution for a drop checker. Need to keep an eye on my Co2.

If theres anything Ive missed, ask away.

Cheers,
Graeme.

I work at Chester Zoo. We had a huge consignment of bog work, some pieces bigger than a car. When i was looking after birds in quarantine i would walk past the pile of bog wood. I only took small fragments that had broken off, so they are all individual pieces.

Cheers,
Graeme.

P.S the tanks is only two days old remember.

Very nice Graeme. I see that you have turned the cube around so that the straight edges are at the front.
Im glad I'm in the junior category. :)

It looks promising Graeme. I like the "U" shape of the wood and the range of greens you have in there.

I`m not sure about the Riccia on top of the wood, though. It looks as if it is just sat on the wood as opposed to being part of it.

Is the Monoselenium tenerum in the front left? I am looking forward to seeing how it looks alongside Riccia, and what kind of contrast it gives. Riccia is my in plant at the moment and I was tempted by the Monoselenium tenerum available on UKAPS to use alongside it.

You have an impressive plant count in such a small tank. Will you be reducing it for the best looking plants as it develops?

Another question.....have you ever considered a tank with more capacity than a small child`s bladder?

Dave.

P.S. One last question....P@H at the Greyhound Park, yes?

Really like the hardscape.

How are you finding the fissidens, mine gone dormant ATM, but can't wait for it to eventually grow

Hay Dave.....

Your right about the riccia, im thinking of swaping the riccia for the fissidins, when the riccia grows out it should cover that unatractive support piece of wood. I will be changing things as it grows. Not sure about the Anubius nana, think it needs either moving back or to the other side. Also needs another crypt on the right hands side next to the largest peice of wood.

I do want to go bigger, but budget has the controling factor, ive not long moved house so time is short too, im planning getting a 60 soon, ive got space for a 120cm but not sure what the misses will think, shes proberbly just say, yeah do what you want, its your money!

The pets at home ws the one by Sainsburys just off the A41 in chester, but the one one th Grayhound park has a very good selection too, not a bad shop, has shimp too, better than most other local fish shops. Andy's aquatcis in Rock Ferry has the best selection of fish by far and a good selection of stem cuttings, no tropica plants, they do Co2, the JBL bottle swaps, dont like the idea of buy a bottle for £150 to give it away on day one, but if you do, it cost £15 for a refill.

What size PC T5 lamp is it?

The Daylight Plus is a nicer colour rendition if it's more than 18w - not purple like the Triplus. For some reason Interpet don't do it in 18w.

The 24w PC T5 is 12" so fits perfectly on your tank. It's what I had above my nano.

Its the 24W 12"/30cm version, i had one spare so used that.
I have gone with the TriPlus, some times i find the daylightPlus too yellow, and im not a big fan of a yellow hue to my tanks. I know its a better tube and i may well resort back to it, but for now ill stick with the TriPlus. I think if i was running two of them i would go with both the TriPlus and the DaylightPlus together, this would give possibly the best light rendition.

Its a shame there is a real lack of decent equipment for nana's ,especially the lighting.

Yellow? Never noticed that myself. Just excellent greens...
