I was looking at PetSmart to get a heater, and I stopped by the betta section as I always do, so I could look at the fish. And what I noticed... a sign that said "Crowntail Male Betta". And there were actually crowntails there! I hope this means PetSmart doesn't want to carry VTs anymore.

no, they will still carry VT bettas as well. crowntails are getting very popular in chain shops. keep in mind that just because they are crowntails doesn't make them better breeding prospects. they look like crowntails, but their tail and color lineage is still dodgy.

I wasn't planning on breeding any. I'm done buying fish until I'm able to get a gorilla rack to house more tanks. If I breed, I will only breed quality fish from a breeder (i.e. half-moons).

aight, then -lol-

i just wanted to make sure. we put so much emphasis on not breeding veiltails that when people pick up a CT or PK or any other tail at a petshop they think that it will be okay to breed them because they aren't VTs.

There is a petsmart in another city that i go to every so often, that at one time carried super deltas. I didn't get any and i really wish I had, as I haven't seen them there since. :X

I might just call them up and ask if they will ever get any in again.

Yeah sometimes Petco and Petsmart get nice bettas. I got a light yellow double tail CT from Petco and a Cambodian VT from Petsmart. I also saw a few butterfly VTs.
