Peterborough?

My dad and family are taking a trip up here on saturday, im just wondering if anybody knows of any good aquatics in peterborough?

I just read up that there is a maidenhead here

Went to that store last w/end. It's not actually in Peterborough but only by a few minutes.

I was not spectacularly impressed by it to be honest. My LFS is Amwell in Soham which I'd say had better selection of tanks for purchase but less livestock. I can't say I've been to any fish shop and been bowled over by it or their staff though.

Why is it that I can never find a willingly helpful staff member at any fish shop though? They're either run off their feet being chased by customers wanting attention (classic of Swallow in Norfolk) or completely disinterested in the subject matter (and therefore will sell you a tiny tank a couple of goldfish).

Waterzoo in peterborough is a good fish shop- always given us good advice and great display tank, we alternate between there and the nearest maidenhead aquatics at crowland.

I love Maidenheads nr Peterborough, its in Crowland I think, get your dad to write it down before you leave cause its abit hidden away, we were there last Sunday, the staff were great with me, both times i've been. They have tons of stock, alot of the fish I see there arent easily available elsewhere. We brought 3 DPs (bargains £2 each) & 3 more rasbora, the tanks were clean & well kept & I dont think we saw one dead fish.

Its definately worth a visit.

Where abouts in peterborough is it, is it in the centre? I think im going near the centre near a big water park or somthing?

Its just a shame my tanks wont be cycled by saturday i guess

Maidenheads isnt actually in Peterborough, its about 10mins the other side in a little town called Crowland, its part of Wyevale Garden Centre, if you have a look on their website there should be directions, or just type it in the satnav.

well, in crowland, is wyvale maidenhead, very very very good, good staff, brilliant stocking of marine, corals and tropicals

in peterborough is the waterzoo, its fantastic, really great place, its huge, they have marine, tropical.

on the whole though, they are very good!

and yes, i did buy all y dwarf puffers from the crowland branch

they have such great staff, although. im 17 and they did treat me like an idiot in fish keeping; but i guess thats just present day stereotyping from some people
