Petco Herbal Ich Cure

Ralph, there isn't a day goes by without me wanting to add some fish - and I have two nicely stocked tanks. It's the nature of the hobby - you always want more!

When it comes to who to trust - I realise I leave myself open to accusations of bias, but I would definitely trust this forum. Don't add more fish until your filter can successfully handle the bioload it currently has.

All you need is will-power. You can do it, I know you can.

My name is Lock Man and I'm an aquaholic........

great post.....Nooooo what I meant by trust is who can I trust to buy fish from....I need to find a local source that is as careful as we are before I will add fish, I can hold off. I have been looking online (Dr Fosters...etc) and the have ok prices but the shipping is what takes me out of that game..

I trust the people on this board very much... without you help I would not be on the edge of beating a double bad situation Bad ICH and New tank Syndrome, both seem to be almost under control...

I want to thank everyone who helped (is helping) me through this rough time with my tank :)

BTW are you a locksmith? What's with the name Lock Man?

ok tested
ammonia 0ppm
Nitrite .10ppm
Nitrate between 40 and 60 ppm

if it wasn't for the high nitrates I would almost skip a day of changing...
oh well

what about Detoxifiers? I do have a couple of those
Kordon AmQuel Plus and API Quick Start

whats this Nitro-Zorb?

Can you get waterlife protozin in the states ? I had great success using that on two occasions when my fish got white spot.

40-60ppm for nitrates isn't spectacularly high, I get 40ppm out of my tap (faucet, since you're a Yank). What test kit are you using that gives you accuracy down to 0.10ppm for nitrite? I am always of the opinion that any nitrite or ammonia reading needs a water change, but at 0.1, I wouldn't blame you for not.

+1

API Master kit

the .10 for nitrite is the color of the test isn't quite .25 but not 0 , just a touch over the blue.
so I guestimate when I put the carbon back in will that help with the nitrates?

OK I did another 90% change had to it was bothering me

ammonia 0ppm
Nitrite 0ppm
Nitrate 20ppm

better

still Ich treating still warmer temp, lots of air, no carbon

No, the carbon is only for removing medication from the water after the course has been run.

A friend of mine buys his marine stock from Liveaquaria.com (the livestock site for Drssmithandfoster) and has GLOWING reviews of them. The shipping is high, but if you are spending a fair amount of money on the livestock, the shipping comes way down - or free.

I've never ordered fish from them, but I have used them for supplies. (I just wait until I need a bunch of items and then the shipping is free - I also buy a bit extra of things that don't have expiration dates to get over the free shipping threshold.) ;-)
