That is irregardless of the fact.

He posted the pictures of his robot dog..he didn't nominate himself for POTM with the pictures...there were numerous people that did however. Not that I condone the robotic dog being in POTM..mind you.


But calling him names (keep in mind he is a 16 yr old, btw) for liking a "toy" is uncalled for, rude, tacky, and childish.

If you think the toy is silly, or the idea of the toy being in POTM is silly..fine. But you dont' have to take it out on him...because others voted the d*mned thing in.

I think all of you should be ashamed, personally.

Just to sum things up here. Seems to be a general consensus of what folks would like to see as some ground rules for this competiton:

1. A limit on how many times per month you can have an entry (maybe one entry per animal or one entry per person period).

2. The pet should either belong to the person, or if it of a close friend's pet or a family member's pet, you need to have taken the picture yourself.

3. No inanimate objects, living animals.

4. If you win, you can't compete with that same pet in the next competition.

In additon to the already standing rules of a minimum of two nominations for a pet.

See now abstract your getting under my skin. I find it ridiculous to be in the competition without a prize. The dog will have no care in the world if he wins. Maybe If someone sends him a bone through the mail.... Hey thats a thought.  So the prize of the title is the only thing that drives me to be in this comp. I would have not made the mistake and asked to be nominated if a) There was no tittle as a prize  Knew people like you were going to be so criticle towards me. The drive toward the title is a matter of opinion. Maybe you might not have as much as an urge as i do to have the title. And i think its extremely wrong that you don't respect my opinion. And don't put words in my mouth. I do care if you vote for me.

everything i say gets under your skin whether it is to you or not, and even when it is positive...

fact is, i posted some pictures and my cat happened to get nominated, which i never even hoped for/considered/etc...shortly thereafter, the household pet forum seemed to turn into posting one pet picture after another after another askin for nominations...if people didn't get the response they wanted, they started another thread, maybe this time not ASKING for nominations, but having the sole reason of getting a nomination....the household pet has turned from a "showcase our cute animals doing cute things" to "please nominate my animal and if you don't like these pics i will post more and more until you nominate it"...

i like the fact that you admitted, wwestar, that you wouldn't have posted the pics if there wasn't a prize....that is why i lobby that we completely take away the "prize" factor in this fun competition (with exception to a gallery of past winners - i think that would be great)....

i completely agree with all of the proposed rules set forward by everyone (and recapped by MAM)...1 entry per person each month should suffice - there is always next month....no including wild animals - they aren't pets are they?....no including inanimate objects - can i enter my robosapien? he can even dance! i just wish that the "title prize" would be completely removed from the idea of the competition....this maximizes the fun factor along with minimizing the competition factor...just my two cents, but i think wwestar's mentality can be looked at as a generalization of a lot of the people who are currently in the competition (as much as i hate to single people out but wwestar, you left yourself open with those comments)...

oh, and out of curiosity, what's the big deal with having a special title on an online forum?

Ok I am closing this topic now I will take every thing into consideration and I will post a new set of rules when I hear from William about the prize. I would like to thank everyone for their opinions.
