Perfect Cleanup Crew

Sorry to hi jack your thread Lexie3787 but felt it would be better to ask in here rather than start a new thread about the same thing.

What could I put in my 10g that will eat brown algae off the glass and gravel?

I really dont know the difference between algaes lol I never had an algae problem before, but ya this algae is on the glass sooo ya

Why can't people look at the reason why they have algae?! Adding more fish is likely to add to the problem in a small tank.

Has no one ever seen such things as these?

LOL

Ya instead of adding fish use the items shown above :p
I use them all the time and they work perfect for me :D

I have a mag float. And yes I do know the problem of the algae. I just stated that I wanted bottom feeders for my tanks.

Brown algae is typical in newer tanks. Just keep cleaning it off and eventually it won't grow back.

Lexie, if you are not doing 100% WC's on your little tank, do you have it filtered? If not, you really should be doing 100% WC, it's not risky at all (as far as I know) and is going to be a lot healthier for your betta.

I wonder how you clean the gravel? and sometimes situations are too horid to scrap algaes everywhere in the glass?

Well the 10g has been running for about 4-5 years and I clean it off the glass but it comes back, I don't thing a mag float or sponge could get it off the gravel.

Oh, I don't know. One of these perhaps?

OR TACKLE THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM!!! You even quoted me saying it!! If the situation is "too horrid" then something is not right!

Am I speaking Vulcan?

Lexie: I did suggest some otos for your bigger tank that would happily eat algae off the glass but you really can be just adding to the problem if it's nitrAte for instance.

I meant the alage on the gravel.... Gravel siphon doesnt take it out.. geez. And wat i meant about the horrid sitauation is that if there's algae every IN the tank NOT ON THE GLASS..
