Perfect Cleanup Crew

Well I don't know what the problem. No sunlight can reach the tank I keep the tank light on for 5-6 hours a day nitrates are low. What are other causes?

I meant the alage on the gravel.... Gravel siphon doesnt take it out.. geez. And wat i meant about the horrid sitauation is that if there's algae every IN the tank NOT ON THE GLASS..

Course it does. That's what I was meaning. If you hover over the top of sand or dig into gravel the algae goes up the syphon as well as the crap.

Not quite sure what you mean by the last bit. I thought my last answer was pretty straight to the point. Find the cause. Simple.

Once again, am I speaking Vulcan?

Durbkat> 5-6 hours isn't actuall that much. As I said it can be too little as well as too much light. Is your algae brown? Live plants can also help.

This might be useful in finding what algae type you have, what causes it and the cure.

:)

When I vacum the gravel it doesn't get rid of it, its still there once I'm done. I have brown algae and don't want to have snails in my tank mulitplying like rabbits. :S

Otos die easily, id rather be able to put ottos in a tank that I know is running perfect.

The 2.5 gallon is filtered.

My 10 gallon has been running for awhile. I use the mag float and it works but it comes back after awhile

Basically all I wanted was to add something to my tanks to help

Why is this forum full of so much arguing lately? Isnt this a friendly forum?

Ok, IMO your 2.5 galon is still too small to add in more fish.

Otos would work in your 10 gallon. They don't die that easily. They just like normal things like good water condition.

If the algae is coming back then you need to tackle the root of the problem, use your algae cleaner more often or buy fish that'll eat it (although, once it's gone you'll have to feed them in their own right).

Who's arguing? The only reason I seem to be repeating myself is because people don't seem to be taking notice of what I am saying despite the fact that it could really help. It would be said that people are being unfriendly to me if anything.

:dunno:
