If they live together then it's her home too and she should also get to decide about what goes in it and on big invesments.

I have quite a few tank and will not be getting any more (can't pysically fit any more!). My boyfriend likes fish but not to the extent I do but they are my responsability. He helps but it's my thing.

I've never had to persuade anyone to like fish, as such, but one of my friends was very discouraged because all hers had died, but once i helped her out and explained how she could look after them better she became really enthusiastic. i don't know if that's *entirely* relevant to the topicbut hey.

I just get a tank if I want one. If she gets mad, oh well, she'll deal with it. She also gets what she wants too. BTW she now has 2 tanks of her own...the 1 gal. and 2 gal. (in my sig) both with betta's in them. I'm gonna get a 10 gal. hospital/quarantine tank this weekend.

Go back and read the second one, and stop acting like a child. In case you failed to notice, which you seem to have, the issue was dropped a ways back before you started spouting off again. Now maybe you can get over it.

Please understand I have 75 a,d I was thinking of a 75 or larger for third tank.

This is a whole lot more space taken up than your 29 gallon (biggest in your signature) and some 1 or 2 gallon tanks.

I would not consult her for 1 gallon tank, I would just get one.

However, when you talking tanks 55 gallons or bigger, that take up alot of space, it would not be fair if I in your words "Just get one if she is mad oh well"

This thread is about positive ways to get someone who is not interested in fish, in to the hobby. And convincing them to buy bigger tank in postive matter.

I dont need the advice, "if she is mad oh well" I could have gotten that myself.

My son got us started on fish tanks. He started with a 10-gallon last year and then I decided that I wanted a small one for the living room. My husband wasn't really crazy about the idea at first but last Christmas we went to Walmart to spend some Christmas money we received and HE suggested that we buy a 55-gallon aquarium to start out with . I really didn't want to start out with something that big but we got it anyway. We learned real quick how addictive the hobby is and went crazy buying more tanks. Then my husband saw a 240-gallon tank on E-bay and decided he had to have it. I was a little skeptical at first because I knew it would be more expensive to keep up and more time consuming to maintain, but it's been well worth it.

i hated the thought of him buyin any more consoles but i never said anythin half the time, then he got a stupid big tv (43inch wich i saw as my tank space taken up) if anything my tanks were like my revenge on him... the bigger the tank i got the more i was sayin 'yeah look i can spend money too so nuts to u'

Yep, that was MY statement towards My wife....not my advice to what you should think towards your S.O./Wife. And if I wanted a 55 gal, 125 gal or a 250 gal tank I WOULD just get it. My wife gets her way and spends more money on her stuff than I do on fishkeeping.

I would consult her if I was buying a car/house/yacht, until I hit the lottery at least.

Anyway, I'm glad you got a kick out of my statement, it was meant to be kinda macho. Most people don't get my humor on the internet.

I hope you can convince her to get a bigger tank, she WILL enjoy it, she just doesn't know it yet.
