I also have two bookshelves with some 2.5's and I have these 8 gallons that divide into six sections that are useful but expensive.

I just syphon mine with a small gravel vac, tried the python; it was too strong.

I'd have a look around places like ASDA, I was only in there quickly today but they sell squareish plastic containers, and other shapes n sizes fairly cheap.

I use those boxes that oohfeeshy has.. from wilkinsons! and they smell like marzipan when you first get em.. yummy
