Penn-Plex Nuwave Tank Super Kit

Hey everyone!

Looking at different threads I've seen this tank recommended a number of times and was wondering if anyone knew anything about the filter that's included? What type is it? Does it use cartridges? If so, where would I be able to get replacement cartridges?

Looks like tiny, little internal power filter. I have no idea what kind of media it might have in it, cartridge or not, but you can use any kind of media in filters (as long as it fits), it doesn't have to be the manufacturers one. Get some cheap filter sponge frpm ebay and cut it to fit.
You will be careful what you put in there won't you? It is a very small tank!

What do you plan to put in this tank? I would recommend it for some plants and shrimp. A betta might work as well. Beyond that... I don't think it would be good for fish.



If I might... I suggest you consider going to at least a 10 Gallon tank, if you are considering fish (other than a betta). The larger the tank, the greater the stocking options, the greater the volume of water (which means more time to find problems with your water parameters), etc. not to mention the addictiveness that can come with this hobby. I would suggest you find the biggest tank that you can both afford and will fit into your home.

I don't know anything about the brand, but I personally would never spend $50 on such a small tank.

I'm thinking of putting 2 male bettas in here, with the divider installed of course.
