Fish Crazy
Now that I caught your attention I would like to tell you the reasons why I love guppies.
To beggin with, I would like to say that I was born in Brazil but raised in Colombia(notice there's no "U" in Colombia)As a child I went to this school where every room had a fish tank all full of what seemed thousands of guppies.Of course these were the wild type, the ones people buy as feeding guppies nowdays.I used to sit next to the aquaria just to look at them.Once,I remember asking my parents for a fish tank for christmas but they say no.
As a teenager our family moved to the states and when I was sixteen I had my first job.I didn't make much and I only worked a few hours on weekends but, I managed to save up some cash and in a few months I got me my first tank and a few guppies.A few days latter they all end up belly up.
It took a while before I mastered the art of guppy keeping and breeding.
A few years back I graduated from college and received a nice job offer.I moved to my first apartment. One day my parents told me they bought something for my brand new apartment; When they showed up I could not belive my eyes when my dad and two of my brothers were carrying a 90 gall. tank.
Later that day my mom told me that she still remembers the face of disappointment when I did not get a fish tank one christmas.I could not belived my parents still remembered that.
I am 26 now and still have the same tank.No longer I keep guppies there(the one with guppies is in my bedroom)You see,I know it might sound chesee to some, but I will always relate guppies with a very happy childhood.
PS...If my future wife is reading this remember,as a requirement you must love "los pecesitos de colores".
