Got some peacocks today from a reputable breeder. They seem really healthy, colourful and active, but I’ve noticed a couple of the males have these sort of grey patches on their forehead. It is the bigger males and they are eating and behaving normally? Is this a problem like hith or simply colouration/maybe from fighting?

Does is look like indented or is it more of a surface think like color wise? I have South American cichlids and my severum and EBA sometimes went at it and they have some marks on them similar to that but smaller.

No dents, purely colouration, almost like missing scales

I think it is just coloration because the scales are still on the head
i saw some of these fish that had patterns like this, but not as much as yours

edit::
even photos of fish online sometimes have it
