Well, overhere a video of a parcel that came in yesterday with livebearers in it. I do have to admit, that the number of the splitfins was way more than expected. I had to divide those splitfins over 4 tanks.
It was without shipping costs. But the number of the goodeids in particular was higher than expected. I had to divide those in 4 groups (which mean also 4 tanks).Best unboxing video Lol. Is this one of those where if u spend more and u cna get free shipping?
Well yes, it's quite a number of them. They all swim in quarantine tanks at the moment. All do well. That is a lot of fish, never ordered fish by mail only plants.
About 4 cm max. Most males won't show a sword. Just a few have got a tiny translucent sword (not even worth too mention).Maaaan that’s a lot of fish.
Feller in the next street to me apparently has Dwarf Swordtails. I’ve never seen one. How big do they grow?
Yes, just like more countries, the lockdown is a real pain. Overhere, petstores and lfs's are open. Because they also sell food, the goverment marked them as being essential. Next tuesday, we'll hear if more measures will be taken ot not.I'm jealous. I'd love to get even one new fish lol! Our shopping opportunities are very limited due to UK lockdown. Three more weeks and I'll hopefully get more fish ?![]()
Do mind me asking who you used. I buy a lot offline and yours were packed very well.I do have to admit that I truly think that there were too many fish in one bag each. But I also have to admit that I can't help that. That's something the provider did. But there was sufficient oxygen in those bags. Besides the fact that there were much more goodeids in the whole parcel than I've expected, they were healthy and vivid at arrival. But what a lot of people don't know is that fish at an lfs has got most fish from a wholesaler. And it's quite normal with a wholesaler to bag a lot of fish in one bag as well. Mine were caught and bagged the same day of arrival. So, they've been in there for max 3 hours. And they were wrapped in a black cover in the box, so they wouldn't stress so much.
Just wanted to put this outhere, in case people may think, they've been in there for days...
WOW that is a nice deal, along with @Deanasue i would also like to ask the provider. It was without shipping costs. But the number of the goodeids in particular was higher than expected. I had to divide those in 4 groups (which mean also 4 tanks).

He packs them very well. But I do the same thing when I ship. A black cover puts them at ease.Do mind me asking who you used. I buy a lot offline and yours were packed very well.![]()
Well, they actually came from two breeders. The one who brought them to me is a friend breeder of mine. But so is the other one. The one who brought me these picked up most goodeids (blue fin splifins in this case) from the other breeder. I introduced both to eachother. But the one who brought me these, provides most dutch wholesalers of crustaceans, angelfish, dwarf rainbows and livebearers. I also provide this breeder of certain livebearers that I breed. Yesterday, he told me he was interested in my leopard endlers (hybrid strain and my own created strain). He likes to breed them in mass and provide them to dutch wholesalers.WOW that is a nice deal, along with @Deanasue i would also like to ask the provider.
