Parameter test

Hello,
So I made a post a couple days ago about some of my snails dying and people told me that the API test strips I am using are not accurate so they might have been getting ammonia poisoning even though the strips tell me that it's not an issue. It's not surprising since they were the cheapest option but it was what I could afford at the time. So I just had some questions on which ones are good. Main question being, does anybody have experience with the automatic ones that are always measuring for you? I'm seeing them for $50 up to $150. I'm willing to spend the money if they are worth it. If those are not worth it, which manual ones would you guys suggest?

I have a 29 gallon tropical fresh water aquarium if that changes anything.

Salifert chemical tests are my recommendation.

Honestly... maybe shamefully, I don’t test my water really il test maybe once a month or when there is a clear issue , I think testing regularly can cloud your own judgment, I know my weekly water changes keep my no2 and NO3 good , I tend to only test if I hve aggressively disturbed the substrates or rescaped my tank
