panda just dies....

yeah, actually with these pandas i did it....

this is the thing. i had them for probably a month before they died. they were in the shop for a week, then i took them home.

so i think they settled in, but somethign wierd happened after a month.

Did they all get the upside down syndrome? if so it may be a bact. infection as mentioned earlier that effects their swim bladder? i dont know too much about fish infections but if it effects boyancy then that would be my first guess....

mine just became withdrwan and kept swimming to the surface and gasping... they then calmed down again... and died the next day.

What have you been feeding ? Any live food? I'm not saying all the live food is bad but some have the risk of introducing some disease and stuff. Personally I never feed LIVE tubflixs and blackworms since I know they grow in pretty nasty place. And I see often people have trouble with fish health feeding them.
Did your dead cory have hollow(concaved) stomach? It seems to me, all the one pass away have concaved stomach. And I sometimes wonder that if I am feeding enough. Because I know how big apptite cory has. I swear my Panda would eat all day if I feed them all day. `
Anyway, I just wonder what kind of food you are feeding.

i thought that... checked the temp (less oxygen at higher temps) and it was fine - turned on the air from the filter too and upped the flow - no difference.

all the other wish were fine - they just did it one by one. the 4 we have now are about 1.5" now and going strong though :)

Mmmm well this is gonna be tough then, perhaps these little corries arent that tough, to be honest, now i think of it i had peppered corries mysteriously die.........the answer was actually rather odd, the aquarists compost that i used at the time was apparently rather tasty for these corries who just pigged out on it. When i noticed this a cross section came into play and it was stuffed full of the stuff. Removing the wee corries to a tank that did not have this compost (i.e. back to the shop!) saw that none of them died!

Oddball
What are you saying? The thing call "aquarists compost" kept the small frys survive? If so please tell me more about it. How can I get it and what it is and stuff. I could use the magic stuff to keep my fry survive and grow better. Thanks.
