hi tuesday i brought a panda corydora and 2 peppered corydoras for my hubbys tank he has a 60 litre tank been running since dec he has 8 male guppies and 5 neon tetras we decided on the corys as i have them and their great in a community tank.

went to pets at home tuesday lunch time got the 2 peppered corys and the panda whos very tiny he was housed with neon tetras in a tank ,all seemed fine, went home did the norm regarding adjusting him to tank .but he wasnt very active ,didnt worry as thought thats norm .but all he did was sit on bottom of tank in corner.

had to go shopping as pets at home shop next door my neighbour asked if id get her a moss ball so went back in . to my horror most of the neons my panda was with were dying or dead ,so were other fish in their tanks, i overheard a lady saying these fish look transit damaged . i asked what was wrong but told possible transit probs not to worry this happens sometimes. i didnt no panda was that bad ,thought he was nervous.

on wednesday panda did the same he never moved even when feeding time ,guppies brushed passed him but he sat put .

today he still not moved i nudged him to see if hes ok he rolled over and didnt even try to get up ,then he moved slightly doesnt seem to be able to swim he just nosedived on floor yet hes still alive but just .

he has no wounds,spots,

should i remove him i dont have a spare tank though ?

do i let him say put and give him a chance ?

will this be what killed the fish at pet shop ?

i will go back there 2moro .

but hes such a little sweetie i wanna give him a chance but dont no what to treat or do

any advice appreciated

thanks

ps all my water stats are fine as tested with aps kit

Pandas are very susceptible to stress when moved and really prefer their own kind. Added to the fact that the tank he came from is now diseased, it doesnt sound good. If he rolled over when nudged and didnt immediately right himself, I would have to say that his chances of survival are slim.

Is there anyway you can contain him on his own, either with a breeding net or another tank?

oh what a shame poor little guy ,

i havnt a spare tank jnor a breeding net ust a normal small net

he keeps rolling sideways across the gravel doesnt move for ages lies on his side does flips

do i just leave him or should i put him out his missery but could he be saved ?

so upset dont want it to suffer

very sad to report my gorgeous little panda cory didnt make it, unsure if leaving him to see if he pulled through was the best for him in the end .

it was very upsetting for whole family i never realised a tiny fish could have such a effect on us , guess i no why you guys are so passionate about your fishys.

well to say i wasnt happy with pets at home grimsby is a understatement so i went back to the shop and spoke to staff , they just said ah well here have

a new one ! and werent bothered at all.

when i asked if there was a problem as id noticed other fish dead , first they denied having dead fish till i pointed out the girl who i spoke to regarding all the dead fish on

tuesday, then i spotted 2 dead neons in the tank near me , so they couldnt deny it ,they said yeh they have transit problems and also they are only keep them for 1 - 2 hours in

quarentine on mondays once theyd been delivered as they had no facilities to keep them in quarentine for a few days , so they cant tell if their ill unless they die before.

and if i wanted to buy fish from them they said its best to buy at the end of the week because if they were still alive by the end of the week then they should be ok if not they

would replace it, however they said its one of those things as their fish are not from sturdy stocks due to over breeding.

so i guess from that you can see why im looking for somewhere else to buy my fishes,ok they may well be good enough to replace them but i dont want to have unhealthy fish or

keep replacing fish and they no they have bad stock and quarentine issues yet they still want my money and are willing to sell the fish still,

im at mablethorpe, lincolnshire, so any respectale aquatics out here let me no please.

ps thanks all who really do care about our watery friends whether you reply or just read this thread or any other threads its good to no fishes do mean something to some people. x
