Now i have done plently of research, and it says they require at least 20C temperature.

However, my tank drops to 18C at night, and picks up slowly again to 21C durring the day.

So i was thinking, will a 2C difference (only at night) hurt this fish?

Thats all i want to know :)

Thanks ;)

get a heater....

How come its so low? does it have other tropical fish in it?

Getting a heater is not a option.

I have no more spare power outlets (and yes that include extension cables).

All I want to know is what I have asked above.

Thanks :)

What about getting a combined filter heater? would mean no extra socket req + extra filtration..

OK... No they wont be ok. They need temps a lot higher than 20ºC. Pandas are a delicate cory at the best of times, let alone in non optimal conditions.

not being funny then...
but keeping tropical fish is not an option...

they need stable temps, higher than those you provide.

you could happily plug a 4-way into one outlet.

To keep tropical fish your shopping list needs to include a new 4-way and a heater.

Hi Gold,

smithrc is absolutely right. Pandas need at least 71 or 72 degrees F. and you are talking of keeping them in a night temperature of 64 degrees F. and a day temperature of around 70 degrees F. That is way too cold for them. It's also a large temperature fluctuation which will do them, or your other fish, no good.

If you can't get a heater, and still want to keep corys, you might give some thought to getting rid of them and getting C. paleatus (peppered corys) instead. They can adapt to the cold temperature you have, but pandas are far too delicate. In the long run, you will lose them.

If you look around, you can find power strips that have up to 10 outlets. If it weren't for them, I don't know what I would do.

Its good to see corresponding advice, shows people know what they are talking about.

Indeed in my old thread it was decided the temperatures would be to cold for pandas but not peppers.
However peppers get a lot bigger than pandas, thankfully I have not bought either yet.
But I do already have the 5 gallon. HeHe but my friend (who owes me a few favours as I have been holding his goldfish for a few months) agreed to swap me his unused 8.5 gallon for my 5 gallon.

So once I get the tank in 2 weeks time, I will be planting it out real heavy, and buying myself 3 peppered corys :)

Thanks all
