I've got a 110 ltr, 24.5 uk gallon(approx), 30 us gallon(approx) tank, i've got 31.5 inches of fish in there at the moment and by the equations on here i'm overstocked(going by the 1inch per us gallon rule).

I'd like to know how much damage i'd do to the tank (Juwel Rekord 800 80cm x 35cm x 40 cm), filter (Juwel Bio-flow 400) and my fish if i was to add another 9.5 inches(another 2 fish).

My LFS said my tank will hold 25 fish quite comfortably - i know they are there to SELL SELL SELL, but i've built quite a rapport with one of the guys there and he's always given me good advice (I always ask on here first before i go to my LFS and he always gives the same advice as i get here).

At the moment i have:-

6 x Platty 12 inches
2 x Balloon Mollies 6 inches
2 x Black Neons 3 Inches
7 x Glowlight Tetras 10.5 inches

I'm looking to add a Bristlenose catfish 6 inches and a Siamese Fighting fish 3 inches,

How much damage would i be doing if i added these extra fish?

Many Thanks,

Mark.

I would think since most of your fish are small and have a small bio load, you should be ok with adding the Bristlenose, but i dont think adding the siamese fighting fish (Betta) is a good idea...........They dont make the greatest community fish.......This is just my opinion.......Someone will probably dissagree with me for that statement..........Make sure you do regular water changes and have good filtration all the time and the overstocking shouldnt be an issue

Only going by the manual here, so apologies if it's not what you asked, I have a Juwel Bioflow 1.25l, 400lph pump, integrated filter system, there are 3 sponges in the unit, blue at the bottom then green then a carbon filter with a small piece of white floss on the top to catch any debris which i change whenever i do a water change - 25 - 30% once a week.

It depends if your up for more frequent water changes just incase if anything goes wrong and i have to say no on the betta.

They are very aggresive fish.
