I've got the 2213 and its dead silent man.
It will make noise if air is trapped in the impeller, it helps to plug it in BEFORE you prime it, then get the syphon going and connect it fast.
once water starts flowing you may need to SHAKE it quite a bit to get rid of air trapped at the top of the filter.
once the air is totally out though, they are dead silent.
