Our new baby bunny

Har Har stealing Bunz thread   Figures, that's how she likes it,always has to be the star

MAM~ Rabbie is litter box trained, which pretty much gives him all the house freedom a bunny could want because he's so good. He only has one box and it's in his cage and that's where he goes without dropping a single pellet ever.
When he was younger he was really really bad and insistent on peeing in certain areas ,but I suppose that's to be expected just like with cats. I just kept wiping it up with paper towels and putting it in his box. The day he was 'fixed' it all clicked and he never marked again. And he got a newfound muscle control over those pellets that used to pop out with every hop

I think the new bunny will be easy to train. I had her out last night and she ran back to her box and did a tinkle when I put her in. Could of just been a coincidence though

Also, she's no longer Bun Bunz, she has since been deemed Ms.Apple. I noticed the day we brought her home that I call Rabbie bun bunz anyway  I've always said "hey bun bunz" everytime I walk by his cage and I can't stop now. :p
Then tonight she had a piece of apple and went bonkers for it and it just worked for her,so Apple it is :*

Sad,sad day on the homefront, guys. I guess she was just too little to be away from her mother. She passed away yesterday morning :-( Uggh,we got too attached too fast. I knew when we bought her that she wasn't healthy because she smelled and had diarrhea stuck all over her, I can't believe I did that!! :X But I really hoped we could nurse her through the next few weeks.

Uggh. So sad. I really thought she was doing much better though. I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out what happened, the only thing I can come up with is she had a poorly developed digestive tract.

So,my sweet little 5 year old girl has experienced her first loss of a pet (that's not a fish)
I woke up late yesterday and instantly went to the kitchen to make two chocolate pies that my husband needed for work. I had the mixer going and I walked away and noticed Apple stretched out without even moving because of the noise of the mixer... -_- So I touched her and she was gone :-(

Then I didn't know what to do! Do I just take her outside and not tell Tuesday right away? (but that wouldn't work) So, I sat down beside the bunny and I called Tuesday over and said "I think Apple is dead, honey" :-( "She was just too young,we did everything we could"

Tuesday's reply was classic, first she was like "awww,I can't believe she died,we were taking such good care of her!" Then she sat for a minute and said "Wait, you mean I've been petting a dead rabbit all morning!?"
 :-( :-(

*sigh*
So there we have it. I think Rabbie knew she was sickly, his interest in her quickly diminished and he woudn't have anything to do with her the last few days. He probably knew she was a weakling.

We were attached and loved her already, but this all happened so quickly that it is easy to recover because we didn't have her long enough to forget what life was like without her. So sad, we were indeed looking forward to loving her for years. So tragic. But we'll be ok. RIP sweet Apple bunny :-(

Thanks :-( Yesterday it was a bit unbelievable and a little shocking, today it's just depressing and sad. Tuesday got watery eyed for the first time when I brought it up a little while ago, about thinking that Harlie was a bit disturbed over it all. She was always walking over to check on the baby,I think she liked having her around because it brought out her maternal instincts. But then again animals just know things that we don't -_-

:-( Awww, I'm so sorry to hear that :/ Makes you wonder why the woman would sell babies that young, it's not like they're a lot of work :dunno: Good on you for doing all that you could, and nice to hear Tuesday is taking it ok

Honestly,I think she was hard up and needed quick cash :/ This would have been her last chance to part with them in a public spot like that because the weather was scheduled to change. Just a sad thing. I called her phone number several times and nobody would answer, so I'm assuming that many of the bunnies may have died. Sad,sad. I'm actually pretty certain that most of them probably died,we really did go out of our way and do all we could and sadly that was/is more than the average person who buys a bunny off the street will do.

No more pets for us for a while. It's too much to bear when it comes to loss. I hate it. This is every parents worst nightmare when bringing a new animal into the home. Even though Tuesday is tougher skinned than I am. Or she's even better than I am at putting up a front. -_-
Either way, she's just like me and she uses humour to get through everything

Oh wow, I just got a lump in my throat. Such a sweet little face. So sorry to hear about your loss. We do get attached so quickly, don't we?

I'm so sorry, Kelly. :-(

I feel really bad for Tuesday. I hope she is OK. :/

At least the rabbit was given alot of love and care before it died. :)

Thanks you guys  It's funny what an impact an animal can have in such a short time. We still talk about her every day. Just today Tuesday said "*sigh* Apple never got to see what Christmas is" :( We miss her :/
