Yes had read they were a bit iffy, but if you put them in last they might be ok?
Might wait and see how others do first, thanks for advice :)

i really like the look of them too. I just dont want to risk upsetting my other fish so il be leaving it out for sure. Had a few nast FW fish that bullied others and its horrible to watch.

14 September

trip to 'pets at home' to see our friendly employee Mark. Came away with two snails, one giant turbo and a sand sifting snail with a pretty pattern on it's shell

Next came two juvi clowns - couldn't persuade my granddaughters out of these, Charlie and Lola!

THEN, just couldn't resist this Clove polyp.....................are you going to tell me off?

This morning when he is fully open I notice he has another coral attached at the back, what is it? Has an almost luminous green eye!

Starting to get more coraline growing on the rocks which didn't have any :good:

The coral is fasinating - I can't stop watching him, i'm sure it's moved!

tank side view - he is not in the right place - but dont want to stress by moving him

Did a 10% water change yesterday, all params still good, will check again tomorrow as have added fish and coral. I didn't expect the coral to be more fasinating than the fish, but omg

I find fish an afterthought.
Nice coraline on the rockwork
Take you time with the coral placement, needs planning, try not to impulse buy. walk away and research first. (its hard)
Have you bought/ordered the book I mentioned.
Otherwise the tanks lookin good.
Keep a watchful eye on things, pick up on any anomalies and ask questions
Youll need too get some Milliput or D&D epoxy to place certain corals to stop them toppling over.

Yes, I have ordered the book - looking forward to getting it

There is a bit of an  story around the putty. Trod and I went to our lfs, she bought a few bits, I picked up putty watched her pay for her stuff, got thirsty so went and got a bottle of dr. P and guess what ..............walked out of the shop without paying  Didn't even realise till a few days later when Trod said here is your putty! Will own up when I am next there

Of course you will......
Is P@H the only coral depot that you can use.
I have used the internet quite extensively for corals and have found some real good suppliers that do really package and care about what they're doing.
If there's something your looking for specifically then dont be afraid to ask,
Finally a word on the putty, dont mess around to much in the tank with it as it does deplete oxygen levels.

No, we have a large shop closer to us, Swallows - however they run their tanks at 1.017 and not always happy about just how much they really know! I think there are a couple of chaps in there who know their stuff, but they are not always there. The shop seems to rely alot on trainee type staff.

p@h I would normally give a wide berth - however they have a lovely little marine geek (seems about 15 yrs old lol) in there who loves to talk and boy we love to listen and ask questions  We have checked up on all he has said and he has been correct up to now

But, thank goodness for you guys..........it would have been much more stressful :good:
