My ottos ware fine. I bought about 8 and 2 dies right away, but the rest are doing great. The breaking in period is roughest, but once they acclimated they do great.

The most important thing to remember when buying Otos is to make sure they're already eating in the shop tank when you buy them. They are VERY sensitive and the traveling does them no good at all. It can take a while for them to recover from their journey to the shop. If they go straight from the shop to your tank, that's even more stressful for them. If you can, look for ones that are plump, that'll mean they've recovered from their journey to the shop and are eating again. A plump Oto is a happy Oto.
