Just found one of my seven (now 6...!) Otocinclus dead, floating against the inlet vent of my external filter.
No visual signs of illness. All other fish seem OK.
Any ideas...?
Did PWC yesterday, checked levels today and all good.

Starvation? How big is the tank and does it really have enough algae for 7? Do they eat veg and dry food as well as algae?

They've done a great job of cleaning the algae from the tank, so should I be supplementing their diet with algae wafers or something else?

Definately, try cucumber, zucchini, algae pellets, etc...I only have mine for a few weeks and they are not eating anything besides algae so it doesn't seem so easy to teach them to accept other food, hence people say they die suddenly.

Oto's are also notoriously sensitive to water quality. Might want to add some carbon to remove any potential pollutants :good:
