I'm a museum hound, and I've seen some of those Admiralty models submitted for warships. They're magnificently crafted works, really.
If you ever find yourself in western Wyoming, check out the National Museum of Military Vehicles in Dubois. It is magnificent.

Got it from DeAgostini Model Space. Trying to forget about them. Too expensive. It's a beautiful kit. All laser cut bass wood and intricate small parts but that comes at a price.
WOW...that is one challenging model!..How many pieces in that model? I followed the build on the link you gave...very intricate model...keep us posted on your progress

The Smithsonian...yeah, someday. The military vehicle ones too, but the chances of western Wyoming are slim. I made it to eastern Montana once, but I generally don't aim for travel in the US.

Here I am a year and a half into my HMS Bounty admiralty kit. Slow to no going on it. This was an expensive kit and a much more advanced builder kit than I thought. 25 frame ribs , the keel and the bow hawse pieces done. Each frame rib was 9 individual parts and could only be glued up over two days. I have the stern framing to do and then I have to fair each bow and stern rib six ribs each way. Then I can start the decks and planking. I hope I finish this before 2030.
If you are into such things, the following channel has a wealth of ship knowledge including both Age of Sail and WWI & WWII

Challenging isn't a strong enough word. I got in over my head. I will finish it someday but it will be slow and painstaking work. Many of the sub-assemblies are a kit in themselves. I guess about 1500 to 2000 parts. I forgot the old saying that tells us to look before we leap.

My other hobbies besides fish are:
Photography, writing, walking, going into nature, music, drawing, gardening, work around the house (DIY), crossword puzzels and watching quizzes on tv (for I love to brainstorm).

What kind of photography? I do a bit myself, mostly critters and scenic. I have a Cannon EOS Rebel T3. Sadly I only have two lenses, the original 18-55 MM and my pride and joy, a 75-300 MM telephoto with image stabilization. If you are ever looking for gear make sure to check out B&H at
My 75-300 MM was a $650.00 lens that I paid $300.00 through B&H.

Here is some of my stuff:

someone likes squirrels :)

squirrels are from when I lived in Florida. A couple of the critters would actually come in the house demanding peanuts. My Black Lab wasn't thrilled with this put tolerated as he knew they were 'family'.
Squirrels rock up at the backdoor wearing masks and pointing sticks at you. "Hand over your nuts you freakin human". :)

LOL! One time it was totally hilarious! It found the actual bag of peanuts on the counter and decided to get it's own. Went inside the bag and it fell off the counter trapping the critter. LOL! Talk about a ruckus!
