Would an Oscar be ok in a 55 if i had very good Filtration? Also would he be too territorial. If it is possible to keep on i would add a Eheim canister filter to supplement my Emperor 330. I think htat would be sufficient filtration.

If its just him along with a catfish i think you can keep him in there for life, its a arecase that oscars hit 14" and over.

Well it would be him the catfish and 3 other cichlids along with a Big Evil Gourami ( maybe). Now the more i think about it it doesnt seem likely to work even though none of my fish are too territorial. I dont think any of them have claimed anything as their own yet.

The sev, JD, and Festivum are around 2-3" and the gourami is around 4-5" ( BIG, Evil Gourami). The oscar is around 2" but HE probly grows faster right?

well, i think that would be overstocking, but, not very badly, might have some problems down the road

Like? Territory Issues? I think the filtration would be more than sufficient.

I had no idea those other fish were in your tank dude, but yeah they are right that would be overstocked pretty bad with a O in it.

o. I didnt think it would be too bad with 2 pretty good filters. I didnt think it was that many. Its only 9 fish in there including the oscar

O i am. I always though Oscars were More aggressive? The one i want is pretyt small right now. If it is suitable ill be picking it up over the weekend. I am worried the GOurami ( I am not joking) will kill it because the gourami is far bigger and The most aggressive fish in my tank which is wierd

4-5 inches isn't big or evil for a gourami  run a search for a giant gourami, then you'll see big, as in a few feet of fish ;) They have one at an lfs near me and boy is he huge!
