Oscar Aggression Or Mating Behaviour.....the Video At Last

its almost as if he was tellin me to buzz off with the camera, it was like he was shaking at me and attacking the glass! scary thing!

I'd say mating behvior as they arn't really going after eachother... more just gesturing and posturing... if you see them swimming together most of the time and if they find a flat rock and fan it or dig out a pit in the substrate, they are most likely preparing to lay eggs. Hard with o's because you don't know what sex both of the fish are until they breed... so as long as they arn't ripping eachothers fins apart of causing large wounds, they are fine even if it is aggression. Mating looks like aggression because thats just how they do it... try to show their mate that they are strong and tough to protect the young.

Ox :good:

 well the shaking and the eyeballing was definatley more at you! I think he didnt like being a movie star :D

But Ox and nelly will tell you more than I can, as my two are small I havent seen anything like that and hope not to either :)

well i think if thats a mating ritual, then you should leave the yellow pages open near the tank,on the interflora and thorntons chocolate page!! men *tuts* he`ll get the job done in half the time ;)

but he really did look at though he was talking to you spish

Haha Oscars are great. The crazy shaking thing just looks like he is trying to tell you that you are there, and therefore should be throwing him in some prawns. As for the liplocking and slight aggression, that definately looks more like mating than fighting. The majority of that video seems to be about being greedy though.
