I'm well into my fishless cycling now. Just waiting for my nitrites to come down. But, I have got orangey 'stains' coming out of a few of my rocks. Not just the rocks the pebbles too. Should I be worried?

Couple of photo's of blobs. Are they algae?

Around 5 weeks. All were boiled prior to setup. Also the pebble is not the same stone as the rocks which makes me think it's not that. (Had thought it might be leeching). There's also another couple of pebbles which have it on them.

Its rust- many types of rocks contain small traces of metal ores which can rust when submerged in water. I used to have a slab of rock that had a fair amount of rust on it, the fish seemed completely unaffected by it but i took it out after a while just to be on the safe side. I think rust can effect PH, but i'm not totally sure about that.

I've just put my scrubby thing in and that orangy/brown stuff came off!!! So can't be rust because that stains or would be hard to get off if at all.
