Orange Ball Under Female Platy

I've got a white female platy who I *think* gave birth approx 3 - 3.5 weeks ago.

I was thinking that she hadn't got very fat this time with her pregnancy, then this morning when I went down I noticed she had a quite large orange ball underneath her with red bits on top. She seemed happy swimming about as normal and eating as normal and the orange ball seemed firmly attached.

Is it some kind of aborted pregnancy?

Sounds like its possibly aborting,when my platy gave birth to fry there was 2 similar orange balls in tank.Hopefully it will come away.

Well still not sure what it is, the orange ball has disappeared or burst and the remains are left hanging below the fish. She seems happy and is eating normally.

Any more info on this?

Well it's all gone now - fish seems fine
