Just got a new tank it came with an all pond solutions 2000 filter, I also still have my eheim 2229 wet and dry, its a 350l tank, shall I run both, any advantages or disadvantages??

I run two filters on most of my tanks (keep messy cichlids though), foremost because you cannot be without a filter and if a seal goes or an impellar shaft breaks you still have a mature filter running. Plus you can add some of the media from the down filter to the running one until you get the other up and running again.

I would personally only run 2 filtration systems if you find yourself in a predicament where one of them is not able to produce enough water rippling for adequate oxygen intake into the water. This is a predicament I found myself in so I had to go about running a 2nd filtration unit to increase oxygen levels in the water.

It's always a good idea to have a 2nd filter system, just incase one conks, however, you don't need both running unless there's a good reason. Just keep the 2nd one in storage nearby in case you need it one day.

I run two filters. A main one for bacterial operations and a small one with fine filter material in it to remove small particles. It is a system that has worked well but the small filter could never take over from the big one (400LPH vs 2500LPH) but I do keep a spare 1200 LPH filter in a cupbaord in case of major failures as I can fit most of the operational filter media into it.

I also run two filters on each tank. This is good for filter failures, but it also makes it possible for me to keep my tanks stocked with messy fish without having to worry. Running two filters also means I can take one off and drop it in my spare tank in case of emergencies. One can under filter, but it is very difficult to over filter. However, one occasionally will need to baffle a filter or two.

Running 2 filters is a preferred method of many fish keepers. I run my spares in other tanks, so if i need to exchange it for a filter thats died or a totally new setup, i have one ready to go at short notice

thanks all will set the other one up as well, i take the intakes.outtakes are just on the opposite of each other?

I've had multiple canisters/filters at one end of a tank, personal preference i think
