OMG...OMG....OMG.....OMG.....SOMEONE

i wouldnt take them out, my angels raised their young until they were about dime size, so give the mom and pop a chance! :) good luck and post some pics! :) :D

Sad day today :-(

I ended up puting the mama back in, because she really wanted to be with the fry. And through the night she ate them all :byebye:

* sigh *

:X

Oh no silver,so sorry to hear that  I almost told you last night to not put her back in ,but I assumed that you wouldn't. I know most angel breeders just cover the tank and walk away in order to not provoke mom and dads natural defense...eating the young.

:-(

I'm quite sad over this..........not in tears or anything...........but kind of down......

:byebye: Bye bye babies!!

;)

Im sorry for you too. but you really should just leave them alone next time like i said in the first place, everytime you fuss about staring into the tank and taking pictures etc is just eating away at the chance that they will survive.

when you said earlier in the thread that they didnt mind all this i wanted to say more but you just didnt seem to want to listen. i think excitement on your part took over.

just leave them be next next and hopefully the pair will learn from their mistakes this time, and also yourself.

sorry again though.

ps...dont take this the wrong way.

I know...you're not the first person this has happened to,fish are crazy  I can't tell you how many times my noseyness has caused my male betta to eat his young.

Well, I understand what you're saying gixer and I will try to not look in so often next time, if there is a next time. This was my first spawning and you can't very well expect me to not let my excitement take over :/ That's just impossible!!

But now I know what to expect and I will know what to do and what not to do.......

Thanks for your imput.

OMG Silver!!!! I'm SO sorry to hear that!!!!!! I was gone for a couple of days and I really wasn't expecting to hear this. I am so sad for you. Your angles need some parenting classes! :X I hope that you get them to breed again. Just think of how much easier it will be for you. How did your son take it?

Thanks Mesome...........
I knew you'd be sympathetic ;)

My son is okay with it......I told him from the beginning that they may eat them.

It was wierd because they only ate a 100 or so one day, then another 100 or so the next.....then another 100 or so the next day and then last night they had left 12, just 12!!! Isn't that wierd!!??? :dunno:

One of the main reasons I put her back in is because I kept thinking, Well, what if she has them all stuck in her mouth and needs to spit them back out on the leaf with the last 12??? :*) I know, I was in a little denial, what can I say  :*)

I have posted pictures in the Aquarium section.......here is the link........:

OMG that's so sad Silver, I was looking forward to seeing your fry developing into beautiful angels like their parents.

Oh well keep trying and better luck next time!!

Ben

These things happen :(

Remember i was telling you about my babies, well the babies are ok, but the mum fish died.

OMG....!!!!

That is really sad! How long have you had the fish? That's strange that she just up and dyed, sorry!

You are right though, these things do happen, that's the hard part about being pet owners.

Good luck with your babies! ;)
