OMG...OMG....OMG.....OMG.....SOMEONE

First off congrats i knew that it would turn out great!
make sure once they get a little bigger that you take out the parents.
i had a problem with that im not sure y, either the mother still thought she needed to put them in her mouth to put them somewhere else or she just wanted to eat the smaller ones either way they didnt fit in her mouth and was forced to take the parents out.

omg congrats and i cant wait to see some pics :):):):):):):):): :hyper: )

YAY, I know.............I wonder if they're going to live!!!

They are still on the leaves and still wiggling and still no eating...........

I think I'm the luckiest angel fish owner there IS!!!

My 5 year old son looks in with me..............I set up my camcorder on a tripod on the other side of the room so if we want to see how the eggs - excuse me...FRY - are doing then we just take a look through the camcorder and they don't even know we're peeking :shifty: :p

At the first sign of "eating of the fry" I will remove the parents.........they just seem to be so in love with their babies it's almost heartbreaking to think of taking them out........ :byebye:

heheh, thats just how I felt when mine hatch silver, your not the only one! :fun:

Now silver, I have been through every single thing you seem to be going through at this point in time. Going crazy and unable to settle down or bother doing anything else. IF you decide to take them out, the parents will fight thinking the other parent ate the lot. IF you attempt to put your hand close to the eggs, chances are they will charge at your hand. After a while they WILL eat the fry no matter what, so thats when you should take them out if you want to keep them (you will!).

Any questions, just ask away, I know the adrenaline surge you are feeling now! :D

Well.......... :( I guess I am wondering when I should take the parents out!!??? Tomorrow will be the beginning of day 4! I've been witnessing the father sucking the eggs up and spitting them out back on the leaves too :*) I don't know if he will soon stop spitting them out and just chomp down on them or what!!

Are you sure that they will eventually eat the fry no matter what?? Seems to me that I've heard of the parents and fry living together before and all was fine?? :/
Maybe I'm wrong   I just want to make sure I time it right.......not too soon and not too late!

:S

Maybe you should take them out when the fry start to swim. At that point, the parents probably aren't necessary. I don't know if they will eat their babies, but they may.....

You just need to use your best judgement, and if daddy-o sucks up one of those kids and forgets to spit it out  , that would be a good time to move him :)

How big are the little ones?

That's completely correct.

Although I have seen some breeders successfully let the angels self-raise their young, it is quite hard and rare for the typical fish owner (yet I guess sometimes it just happens). So I would take them out as wrigglers. Once I saw them on the leaf wriggling I just cut the leaf off (my beautiful ornament! :-( ) and let it equalise temperature in a bag, and put it in a separte tank. But DON'T let the fry out of water!

Good Luck and Happy Raising! 8)

Eelzor...........

I have my parents and fry in a divided area of my 55 gallon. I could net the parents out and stick them in the bigger "open" area??? But, do you think they would go nuts seeing their babies through the divider...........would that stress the mother out???

Ahhhhhhhh.........................decisions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and they are just a teensie bit bigger each day. The night they hatched the little tails were literally as fine as Angel hair and bairly noticeable, I wouldn't have seen them if they weren't slashing about. They were about the length of this comma here > , < but thinner!! Today, they are about this long > i < without the dot on top!! and a little thicker than before so about the actual thickness of the > i < as well.

Man, describing something via posts...................

I hope my pictures turned out........I am leaving town today and will be back Saturday night (tomorrow night) and will post my picts up then!!! :flex:

Hey Silver, my acie let her fry go today :) We're in the same boat.

Luckily the mum does all the hard work.

I look forward to seeing your pictures.

Neat DG!!! Call me dumb but, does that mean she "layed eggs"?? :alien: That's what I think you mean, right!!!

Good Luck with yours! ;)

Oh, and I've got to tell this one little story for all of you novel readers:

Most of you know that the mama moved her Angels onto the plant that is in there......well, she is so adamant about getting to her eggs when they fall she pushes herself through the plant wiggling all over forcing herself into the center of the plant after her little fallers (not wigglers :D ) and in the process she knocks like a DOZEN off!!!!! It's really cute!!!!!

:*)

Sounds like she is keeping herself REALLY busy!! Can't wait to see the pictures! Is papa still helping out?

She hold the eggs in her mouth until they develope into pretty big fry :)

Ahhhh, that is so cute DG!!!!  :*)

I have sort of bad news :-( Most of the fry were eaten while I was away???!!!!! :-(

I don't know if it was the dad or the mom or both?? :dunno:

:-(
:-(
:grr:

There are only about 15 or 20 wigglers left so I moved the parents out!!! :flex:

What little $H|T$ :sly: :-( . What do I need to do to keep them alive without the parents?? I will put the airstone even closer to them, it is in their "area" right now, but I will move it next to the plant......I guess I just wait to feed them until they become free swimming......or is it even after that???? :S
