I spent ages replacing my beloved betta, then I saw him... a beautiful crown tail! i brought him home and put him in a 60l tank. bliss. I went on holiday for 2 and half weeks and left my 18 year old brother in charge.... When I returned my brother informed me that he had brought a small red claw crayfish from a LFS and was just keeping him in my betta tank 'for now'! :-( As I sprinted up the stairs to my horror I saw my betta had a short and ragged version of the tail i had left him with! Needless to say 'pinchey' is no longer in my bettas tank.
My question is will his tail ever grow back? and if so, how long will it take? (I have treated the tank with melafix)

melafix is good stuff iv treated some sick looking injuries on my large an small fish it will work.

about a month and you would of seen the change

Only ever half dose melafix with bettas as they are sensative to it, the fins will grow back but may not be perfect

When they begin to grow they will be clear at the ends and eventually colour up

Clean water is the best cure :good:

oh dear so sorry to hear that...bad brother and bad pinchy. clean water is the best cure, melafix/bettafix in small amounts if feel need to add.
