Ok what the heck

Ok, does anyone know if aquabid employees are allowed to bid on fish as well? I have a number of auctions up right now, and there is one person who keeps outbidding me $1 over what I set my max no matter how obscure. None of these auctions have been bumped up, just the person's first bid is $1 over what I set.

For example, I set a max at 26.52, they bid 27.52. Now, how would they do this to the exact number without bumping it at all? The only person who knows what I am bidding is Julie, so who is this? If it is an aquabid employee or whatever is that really fair? Kind of takes away from the "auction environment" if you ask me...

Am I being sensitive, or do you guys agree?

P.S. If the person who's outbidding me is here...I will not stop, so you might as well

It's not that I am being bid against that is irritating me, it's that someone who has access to how much I am bidding is bidding against me.

Maybe its like ebay, if the other bidder set a reserve for e.g. $50, then it will out bid you until you go over his set amount.

I think so too. So the bid increase must be 1.00 and maybe this person bid 30.00,which would bring his bid up 1.00 past yours to....*drumroll* 27.52.

C'mon now,you've been aquabidding long enough to know that

True that is what happens, but usually, it wil cause your bid to bump, every bid they have had has gone exactly $1 over without any bumps...it just seems a little "fishy" to me.

I belive that aqua bid has a service like ebay that you can set your maz bid and if you get outbid it bids for you.

I saw what you were talking about Sorrell and it does seem suspicious, especially considering that they bid 27.52 from a 20.00 bid. Also, considering that, like you said, the bids weren't bumped up... No idea what to tell you, but it does seem suspicious.

yeah at different price ranges it will raise ever so often what you have to bid in order to go over the winning bid at the moment, but if its happening to all your bids i'd look into it, maybe someone's lurking in the shadows
