He's your fish and you no him the most, you will no when, sorry.

Bod what the latest on your fish.

after i posted my last post i turned off the computer and sat by the tank, he sank to the bottom and shuffled his way over to the glass so i just sat there and watched him, it was very sad....within about 10 minutes he took his last little breathe which looked like he sed 'bye' and then that was it....gone....i was sooo sad poor little guy but he lived a happy little life..... :-( :rip: my little buddy Ed has gone to fishy heaven....

I'm so sorry to hear of your sad news.
You gave him a good long life and did what you could for him.

He's in a very good place now.
r.i.p., little boy.

im thinkin about getting another one....yay...at first i thought i wouldnt be that bothered with getting another on but there actually rather amazing little fish, but this time im going to do it a bit differently, i want one in its own little tank..well not little but u know what i mean, i was just wondering for all you people who dont keep heaters and filters in there tanks how do u make sure that the water quality stays good, and how do u keep ammonia and nitrates and stuff down??? and do u use lights??? ne info on keeping them on there own would be nice, because my little ed used to live with other fish..so i dont know wot to do really if u keep them on there own...

I probably wouldn't ever keep another one without a heater - a heater that can keep temps really steady. Right now I'm dealing with fixing what damage was done to my 2 boys who were stuck in constant temperature fluctuations. It was a mess. uugh

Do let us know if you decide to get another one.
2.5G tanks are very popular and work very well for bettas.

well i can get a small heater, so u dont need a filter then...i mean its not nessascary? ill be doing weekly water changes...so it shuld be ok rite?

do u have lids on top? what happens if u cant get a canopy to put on top wot do u use?

Well, I have a couple of different things set up.
Firstly, I have a 2.5G glass rectangle tank with a 25W neptune heater.
Then I got a glass top to lay over the whole thing - with all the cords coming out of the tank (the heater, etc) the glass top is propped up enough so there's plenty of air that gets in, but not so much room he can jump out.

I have another tank that is a 2.5G minibow - they're really cute and fun. I also have a heater in there and of course there's a hood and light that comes with it as a set.

I have no filter on either of these tanks, and I do 100% water changes about every 4 - 6 days, depending on the water and how much food falls and everything.

I would make sure to cover the tank always, yes :)
Do make sure that air can get into the tank, though.

okies cool...i defo guna get another one now yay!!! need a new tank now...woohoo going fishy shopping at the weekend...

Sorry little guy, R.I.P.
