Hi all,

Today me and my mom went on our usuall shopping every other week. I got home and went into my atic bedroom, and to my horror I see my acrilic betta tank on the floor and water everywhere! I quickly ran over and saw both of the fish that were in there on the floor, my thoughts go to sammy my cat, he of course did it. I asumed they were dead, so I went downstairs and asked my mom to clean it up please cause I couldent stand having to put my favorite fish ever in the toilet. So I went downstairs, heart pounding with sorrow and shock, and tryed to get my mind off it. Suddenly I here my mom, " AHHH, MEGHAN! GET A BOWL WITH WATER!" I quickly got the special dish I use for my fish tank and put water in it and ran upstairs. My mom is running down the stairs with my betta in her hands. She quickly puts him in the dish I had and leans against the wall. She told me she had picked up the bgk that I had in the tank while I got the 75 gallon ready, in the trash she could tell he definatly was dead, cause he was hard and cold. But when she picked up the betta he suddenly jerks and starts moving!

I put him in my little 1.44 gallon hexagon tank and started the air pump. He is now resting on the gravel but is doing great! I am so happy. I was so crushed when I thought he had died. His fins are not as long and flowing as they were, they are also a little ripped but atleast he is alive! I am still mad at my cat for doing that. I now keep the tank on the very top of a book shelf in my living room, and sammy doesnt even know hes there yet! Sorrowman is a survivor!!!! :)

As for the bgk, I will just have to get another! The one I had, had cost $15.00! It is a shame, he was a great fish.

Oh, no I would never do that. It is just what cats do. Dont worry I already gave him a big lecture! Sammys a big mommas boy, cause after the lecture I gave him a big kiss and hugged him! Who can resist that face!

Is your betta still OK? Last week one of mine jumped and survived until I found her. She recovered in the tank and even ate dinner later on, but she died the next day of a terrible fungus, probably from her scales having dried out.

I was just kidding!

Why would I almost drown a cat?
Yes I know you were kidding, trust me if I thought you were serious I would be wicked mad!

He is fine at the moment. He is starting to swim around and eat. I will watch him and post if anything happens. :)

Glad he's doing well right now. Best wishes that he continues to pull through.

Naughty kitty!!!

Great to hear a happy end. Good job your mum went up to do the job straight away, she's a lifesaver. ;)

At least bettas can breathe air, that's probably what saved him.

Sorry about your other fish though.

Yeah, I am pretty sad my bgk had to dye. He was a great fish. But I am so glad Sarrowman survived, he is a great fish also.

It is really lucky that we got home when we did, otherwise there might not have been a happy ending! :)

Sorrowman is really pulling through! :D

Anyhoo, glad he survived.

Woops his name is sorrowman. :)
You know, from lord of the rings. I know I am spelling it wrong though.
