Oh No...

I hope it works for you too, Elise. Dropsy is such a stickler to deal with, it just happens so suddenly while other times it creeps up.As you know dropsy is to blame for anything from injury to internal bacterial infections which makes it hard to treat, silver covers the damaged tissue and the bacteria at least

Sad news, she isn't gone yet, but it's gotten worse and she's not so happy anymore. I added some more colloidal silver in, but I think it's to no avail. :-( I am still hoping for a recovery...

Hope it goes well.

My sorority tank is in big trouble. That's all my girls. Only Synirr's and Delilah are left looking at all well. The gold CT girls, sisters to Jack, are super bad. One is bloated and one is skin and bones. It's so sad that as the girls started getting really bad Jack strangely got chewed up. They were in different rooms even. I wonder if he knew and got anxious and chewed his tail?

Actually this thread made me face up to the truth of what's going on and move the CT sisters.

It's so hard to realize that one is actually sick...I lost about 5 in the space of little over a week...and now I might lose my poor Haimi... :-(

I thought I ought to be more clear about the tank and stuff. Have you done anything special to clean the tank of the girls you lost?

Who are the girls you lost?

Is this 'Silver' medication available in the UK? Plus do the fish need to be isolated to treat or can you treat the whole tank? I have aguppy with dropsy and a female betta witha swollen stomach although her fins aren't sticking out.

You know, there is a pinned topic on colloidal silver so I would go read it (the link is at the beginning of this thread). I'm not sure about much, I just know that I scanned the topic and it's supposed to help with al lot of things, not just dropsy. But I would isolate them, just because I dunno, it seems what to do... (I know, what a great lot of help I am!)

Jollysue, I actually lost males, I had a thread going about it somehow, they were sharing that 6 gallon tank that came split 6 ways. I tore it down, I boiled the plants (they look so distorted now) I got rid of the original rocks that might have caused the whole thing. I boiled the rocks I had put in there the second time. And I used a ratio of bleach to water that I had found on the interenet...I think it was 10:1. I soaked the tank in that solution for 2-3 days. Then I washed it out really well and let it completely dry for 3 days. Then, I washed it out somemore and now I have my new DT in there...so far so good...

I lost: Carp, Ula, Bert(in my sig), Allie, and Alpha. Only 1 survived being in that tank and that's Storin. I thought I was going to lose him for so many days, but now he's up and flaring. What a trooper. They all didn't die because of being in that tank though, Ula was constipated for over a week and Bert got ich and terrible fin rot...maybe even septicemia (although I'm not sure because I never saw it in person before). But the others were very healthy... :-(

Good luck with your girls!

Oh yes, I remember the thread. Do you think this is related to that?

One sister died right after the post. The other is still there in the vase (about 3 quarts.) But I don't give her too much hope. She looks like a balloon with a nose and clamped tail fin.

But I added a tbls per gallon to the sorority with Aquari-Sol and the girls there look better.

How is Haimi?

Nope, the boys aren't related to the girls (sickness wise anyway).

Let me go check on the poor girl now...okay she looks worse, but she actually seems to feel better? I added the rest of the colloidal silver....*crosses fingers* Oh Please... :/

:rip:
You and I have both had so many betta deaths recently, very sad :(

:( atleast you tried the best you could and that Haimi had it pretty good while she was still with you
deepest condolences :-(

So sorry :-(

As I said, I too have had a very bad run with my girls. So far I have only lost one boy--But What A Boy! My girly tank looks like it is stablizing with five Synirr girls and Delilah, the thick DT/HM Samson lady. They all look rough. Although one Synirr girl is trolling back and forth under some bubbles she has gathered from the filter flow.

All three gold CTs are gone now. -_-

I hope our run of Betta troubles is over now. :look:
