definately cut my hands. index and middle fingers across the top crease. duh...'m stupid... -lol-

But on the plus side, my little oranda is now set up in an enormous tank. It's pretty comical, she's a most 2.5 inches, in 29 gallons of water. i need to get her a companion now.

Nah, just let her grow into it, if you simply must get her a companion a school of white clouds is the way to do it though.

well, i haven't quite decided what i'll get her, but she needs someone to hang with. I had her in a 10g 'til i got this one. It was the one I'd had when I was little and there was a cutout picture of a goldfish taped to the back that she would hide with it if she felt threatened -lol-

yes, i may get another fancy. debating still

Qays-- I guess I did fail to mention exactly what I did  It's not a light tank like a ten gallon is and it had about 3 gallons of water in it that i was trying to pour out (my siphon wasn't working because everything was on the floor) when I was cleaning it. So, stupidly, instead of holding onto the black plastic bits, I grasped at the edges (better hold, I had to lift and then pour :X ). Not like, emergency room cuts, I shaved the skin off one finger and sliced the other. The seams aren't overly sharp, but add in the weight of the tank and about 24 pounds of water (and the fact that i don't have rock climbing callouses anymore), and you end up injured.

IT MUST HURT TO TYPE SO SORRY ABOUT YOUR HANDS IT MAKES ME DO THIS OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

AND THEN SHIVER

JIMMY

no, typing isn't so bad. the cuts aren't on the tips of my fingers but the pad of my index finger and the joint crease of my middle finger. Typing is easy, it's all the important things that hurt now, such as opening car doors and when I forget about the cuts and go to fix something in a fish tank (and washing my hands, too, for that matter)

Oh i see! Why were you emptying the tank out anyway?

Lol @ guppiesrgr8

i was cleaning it out because it was filthy when i got it. lots of mineral deposits from water drying out :X Now it's clean and up and running again. with the gravel, water, and fish out of the old ten gallon so hopefully the cycle won't last too horribly long. I'd have used some filter media but the 20g filter i had on the goldie's 10g isn't compatible with the biowheel filter that came with the tank (and which took me at least a half an hour to figure out as i have no manual and don't know what model it is).

that's true, they are really messy, but i wouldn't mind cleaning up after them. well, whatever, i need to give it some more thought yet. gonna wait 'til the tanks finished cycling
