Not Sure If This Is A Julii Catfish

okay ... so I've just spotted that this cory has got a black spot on it's dorsal fin. I'd not spotted this before because of the angle of the first photo. Going by photo's on PC I'd say he or she is a Julii

I'm still willing to bet this is not C. julii.  The head is not "blunt" enough, the body is not compact enough, and the spotting is too reticulated.  Here are a couple photos of C. julii, which I think will be obviously different from the subject.

There are several species with these patterns, and remember that even within a species there can be significant variation.  The photos for each species on PC frequently bear this out, you would hardly think the fish are the same species.  Some C. julii do not have the lateral line at all, but on others it can be fairly distinct as in the photos I posted.

I think this 'un will run and run

(or swim and swim)....certainly a puzzler. Anyway he/she is still living, and I thank you all for your input; I'll keep looking at the l-o-o-o-ng lists at Planet Catfish....
