Not So Smart Petsmart Arrggghh

Will I ever learn? Whenever i get a fish from petsmart, they never last more than a month. My poor little albino cory is dying. I never should've bought him, quite a few in the tank with him were yellowish. I picked him because he seemed lively and was very healthy looking, but small. Since I've had him, he hides a lot, and now it seems like he's always hiding, and not eating. I isolated him and and giving him medicated food, and he may be eating it, but I don't know if he'll make it. So sad. I need to find another source for fishies.

Can you describe texture of thyellow is it a dusting or fluffy or bleached out, yellow on fish can point towards velvet to columnaris, also there a desease called yellow grub but never hear of it much which is yellow spots.

They looked like they had "jaundice" - instead of being a healthy pink, they were yellow. totally, pale yellow. What do you think it is?

Any flicking and rubbing against objects or laboured breathing.
Shine a torch on them with tank lights out to see if the yellow glows up.
Corys are more prone to bacterial infections.

My cory is still quite pink and I've had him over a month. He seems to be breathing harder. I did think I saw lots of red dots on him last night.

Bacterial and not good.
Need to get going on a good bacteria med.

Red spots on skin can be caused by:
Regarding the small red dot, small pinprick like haemorrhages (called petechiae) can be due to a local lesion, a generalised septicaemia or toxaemia caused by acute viral and bacterial infections.

Oh we've learned a while back that we can't get fish from Petsmart any longer.. well.. cept for bettas.
But anything that comes out of their main tanks is a nono for us.
Almost every single fish we've gotten from them have died. Only ones that are still living are 2 male guppies that are now currently sick.

I drive out to the city and buy food and chemicals in bulk. A pet store called Hidden reef aquatics, they sell me my fish and I take them home in a 4 gallon plastic tubbaware type container. It is an hour drive . I guess it is a little annoying but at least all the fish I buy are healthy and they don't end up dead or sick after a few days. The only time I lost one was when I tryed to add a weather loach to my African cichlid tank... I found his skeleton under a rock 3 days later.

I'm a guitar player... I do a lot of song writing and recording for my band too. Most of our practices are jam sessions. (Basically freestyle I guess) I skateboard with my band and I like to free style that’s like it, lol give me a break it was the first thing that poped into my mind I just went with it. Picking a screen name is not something I'm good at you know it takes some level of skill: p. Not as bad as my youtube name shadoweyes666 lol.. Yeah I do realize that is the sign of the devil yikes, not really thinking on that one…no.
Yeah well the pet store, about that, it's in Canada I'm afraid, one location Abbotsford British Columbia sad really. They would do some good if they opened a chain.
