Not Quite The Netherlands

Really? That's interesting about yellow fish because I've been wondering how I would work it if I added some in.... hmmmm

And don't you call me a skimmer! That's why minnnt had to sleep on the couch for a week last time :p

Nothing wrong with skimming, as long as you don't get caught.

Why was 3N's on your couch

Depends what plants you got in i suppose.Dark greens probably work better, but i've got a fair few lighter green now.Red just seemed a better fit.

Hehe, my problem is I have the memory of a goldfish (just to keep it topical!) :p

Yeah the reds do work really well, you'll need to get us a more zoomed out picture soon ;)

goldfish are coldwater

jusst, ya know a little zoomed out - I didn't use that particular acronym! ;)

You'll be getting a new one from me tonight so, ya better step up!

They're like chilled out Serpae's

Ta.That's the general idea, Serp's are probably not suited to a tank this small anyway.
Had Black Phantoms before, and the Stratum is hopefully going to push down the PH a bit, so the Reds might colour up better.

Quick shot to update progress.
Was getting a few signs about low co2, so knocked the lighting period back a bit to 6.5 hours, dosed a bit less.
Then a few leaves started yellowing, so upped the dose a bit more.Have been trying out a TPN+ clone with dry salts but not sure i've got it quite right, so i'm going on the TNC bandwagon.
PH has started to drop a little now that i've eased back on the daily waterchanges.Doing 2x 50% a week.
Some of the Baccopa at the back is a bit leggy but going to let the new growth come on a bit before i trim and replant.
Everything else just growing in a bit really.Think i've got the flow right with the spraybar just angled down.It hits the far side & rolls back. The lotus sways, but not the Pogostemon. However it is growing and the lower leaves aren't shedding.
I can now see the benefits, of planting more densely than i have. There's a few more gaps in each area than i'd like.i'll just keep trimming & replanting.Just might take a bit longer to get there.

Very very nice Stu. The background really suits it. The plants look briliant against it!

Nice tracking the progress. I feel your pain on the wait to fill everything in. I'm currently relying on my own growth as well and its slowwwwwwww.

Keep updating, it's nice to see were it's going. The end product will be awesome!

Now, it is starting to look like proper Dutch. Still too much green, but let's wait and see what the tips of the stems do when exposed to the top. You may get some nice blushing.
