Not Quite The Netherlands

So jealous for that LFS.

I know.
Until my last visit, it wasn't even the best one.

Plus, i'm having trouble keeping up on the 'journals' section tonight.

Me too, you planted people are an active bunch!

Hi
small update about 2 weeks in.
No plants have died, and there's no algae.Always a bonus
Lobelia has shed its purple emmersed leaves, and is regrowing well
L.Sessiflora is doing what L.Sessiflora does, grow fast.Almost at the surface.
Still need to get around to ordering some HM.Going to try a not LFS tomorrow, otherwise will order online.
Ironically, the H.Corymbosa is losing the most, and that was the only plant that had submersed growth.I put it down the lack of flow.I struggled last time with the back left corner.
Changed background.Lost a Kubotai or 2, as they've decided then don't like the new scape & have resorted to jumping.
I can see why people use black substrate, never seen the Oto's this dark.
I can feel a big prune coming on at the weekend.I know the techniques, but how low to take the stems? Couple of inches high, or is that too brutal.
And yes i know, a couple of areas need more plant mass.

Nice growth already Stu. I was worried about your left side at first, I've had a similar plant to Lobelia Cardinalis Dwarf that wouldn't grow much bigger then that, but I compared your growth and then went and googled the plant. Should look really nice then.

Having fun watching this one already :)

Actually i was quite impressed.A LFS has improved their holding tank with co2 & decent lighting.
It was quiet, so had a good chat with the chap who does the ordering.Lots from Tropica & AF.
He'll order in as well.Think they'll be getting a lot more business from me.
Which store is that mate??

Tank looking good mate, as said some nice growth you've got already!

Thanks, not too shabby for 10 days.

Cheers.AH,Brockworth.
Just got to time it right.

Nice growth, was that taken just before lights off or just after they came on?

Can't really remember.Bit of both.
Lights are on a timer. They went off, just before i did a daily water change.Put them back on, to replant a few floaters, and quick pic
Why? Leaf form?
Attempting first prune @ the weekend.LLJ has been schooling me

Yeah just noticed the closed stems is all :).

Note to self, more than update.

HM in,trimmed H.Corymbosa,Limnophila.

E.Tennelus spreading via runners.Ludwigia taking well.Baccopa starting to melt, but already got new leaves. Will prune this and Pogostemon Erectus properly this weekend.

Thanks to LLJ who helpfully filled in the gaps (so far) with my knowledge,

So the aim within each individual group is to the layer height from front to back, rather than prune each stem to the same length.
In addition to this i will be pruning the plants to the rear of each group so that they bush out, ie multiple stems per single plant.

Plants to the front, will be single stem.So individual plants will be cut to the same length, the bottom discarded & the growing tip replanted.

Not bothering with pics, looks no different and still very much at transitional stage.

This is a work in progress, the overall look is not right yet. Important to get it set up correctly though.

Added 7 Hyphessobrycon sweglesi.
