I ordered and paid for a selection of fish on saturday,order was sent out yesterday to be with me by 4pm,they arrived around 11am which i was impressed by.

What didn't impress me is that 3 of my fish were dead,i had ordered a pair of GBR's and one of them was ok the other was half eaten and i ordered 2 oto cats,both of them were dead,only a tiny bit was left of one of them :(

Now i understand these things happen,so took pics and emailed the company this morning,whats annoyed me is that they haven't replied and i can't get hold of them on the phone either :(

On the plus side it was quite a large order and all of the other fish are in good health.
 
ooo yea..i doubt rams would be too happy being stuck in a little box with each other.
idk if you can go to a store for them. but for ottos and rams, delicate fish like that, i'd just go to a store.

i've never ordered online though, so don't have much experience with it..
sorry about the fish, hope it works out alright.
 
Name and shame please so i can avoid them.
 
I really don't want to name and shame just now until i see what happens.

I'm annoyed because the DOA policy states that i must send photos of the dead fish asap which i did within an hour of them arriving,........more than 12 hours later and still no reply.
 
at least there's a timestamp of when you sent in your photo.
i wouldn't worry although as someone else stated, buy delicate fish in stores for their sake. if they won't refund you DOA fish, i'd post their name in shame!
 
How was the fish bagged?
was it 1 to a bag or several if so list what was in a bag plz?

Rams over night should be 1 to a bag!
Oto's to be honest should of been on 2 to a bag!

how disappointing, do they sell on ebay? I had a really bad experience with an online shop a couple of months ago, dead & very sick fish, I posted on here about it. They took ages to reply as well, eventually the manager got in touch(after lots of threats from me) & we sorted it all out, got lots of freebies too.

I hope yours all get sorted as well, they should know how to ship their fish safely, there is just no excuse.
 
I ordered this year from aquaticlifedirect.co.uk and it was speedy delivery. all wcmm in same bag, tetras in their own bag, corys in their own bag, gouramis together in pair in own bag.
No deaths in transit and the fish quality was good.
I hope it wasn't aquaticlifedirect as I won't use them again if it was
 
The order was from directtropicals.co.uk,do disapointed as i had ordered from them before with no problems,still no reply from them so certainly won't be using them again.
 
Strange, they are usually pretty good in replying quickly. Ive only had one problem with an order from them, I ordered two blue acaras, one turned up dead (yep they put them in same bag) but the surviver turned out to be a Texas cichid not a BA. They did send FOC two actual blue acaras and on my advice, bagged them seperately.

They responded to my problems within an hour of delivery.

Other orders Ive had from them have been fine.
 
It might be an idea to resend the email and put a delivery and read receipt on i (Although not all systems allowread and delivery acknowledgment)

2 rams and 2 appistogrammas to one bag. That totally wrong should be 1 pair max with these fish.
They must of just been over the postage weight and tried to save costs.

Ive been doing a bit of ordering form them recently. They are usually great but from what I can gather their currier service is pants.

3 weeks ago I ordered some scarlet badis and some Harlequins. The harlequins were all dead and the badis were looking ropy.

They sent out replacements for the dead fish but that didn’t arrive. They did it again and nothing. then the third time they came.

Never had a problem with them before. The biggest problem i have with their delivery method is that you need to take a full day off work as you cant negotiate a delivery hour. Also this last time the packaging wasn’t great, the box was wet through.

maybe just a blip as they have always been great. To be fair the little Scarlet Badis I got in the latest order are great - shame no females though and when calling they have always been very helpful and apologetic. They sometimes don’t answer the phone but will do eventually, I spoke to them in the last 3 days.
