Ok, i gotta question...
I'm running a H.O.T. Magnum filter (Really Powerful) and a powerhead for just current. It's just a 25G long. So now i got a skimmer rated for up to 90G. Now my question...Do I need to run the powerhead with the filter AND the skimmer?

The Skimmer you can run very slowly. The slower the water passes through it, the more efficient it will be at skimming protein out of the water. You don't have to run it all day, I turn mine off at night as its quite loud.

Work out how much turnover the filter and the powerhead gives you. You want at least 15 times an hour, but more is not a problem!

You really want to have your skimming running 24 hours a day, I turned my skimmer of one night and the next mornign there was a film on the surface of the water.

Also at night the oxygen levels in the water drop and a skimmer does a decent job of oxygenating the water.
